Sivatej Sarva, MD, Ph.D

Dr. Sarva is a highly accomplished physician and scientist with expertise in asthma, COPD, pneumonia, atypical and rare pulmonary infections, pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Sciences from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2008, followed by residency in internal medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Sarva further specialized in Mycobacterial and Respiratory Infectious Diseases through a competitive fellowship at National Jewish Health in Denver.

In 2014, Dr. Sarva joined the University of Missouri as Assistant Professor, later transitioning to private practice in Missouri and Kansas in 2016. In 2018, he moved to Texas for warmer weather and continued his career in clinical and research settings. He has contributed to multiple publications in COPD and lung infections and is currently working with researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, on developing new antibiotics for difficult-to-treat infections.

Dr. Sarva serves as the Medical Director and Chair of Critical Care Services at HCA Houston, Kingwood, where he is also Chief of Staff, a member of the Medical Executive Committee, and the core faculty and director of research for the Internal Medicine program. Additionally, he is a core faculty member for the Pulmonary Fellowship at HCA Houston Kingwood and adjunct faculty at the University of Houston College of Medicine.
